Lauren is increasing her crawling speeds daily.  Now, she is able to stand on her own.  I guess a step or two here and there will be next.  Also, her hair has gotten soooo long.  We are actually able to style it....kind of.  Here a few new pics.

Lauren had a lot of firsts this past week.  She went swimming and went to Holiday World.  She seemed to do well in the water.  A little fussy at first but then she warmed up to the idea and had a good time.  I don't have any still pics of the trip because I dropped my camera in the pool at Holiday World.  However, we did manage to get some video.

Grandpa "Chetter" passed away on the morning of August 3.  Grandpa had been in and out of the hospital over the last three months with various issues.  Chetter loved his family and friends along with a thick steak, a stiff highball and good game of clabber.  He will be missed by all of us.

Lauren is a girl on the go.  Last week she started crawling.  She is still a little unsteady but is quickly getting the hang of things.  Her favorite things to crawl to are the entertainment center and every outlet and cord in the house.  She is definately keeping mommy on her toes these days.  Here are a few video clips.

Lauren absolutely loves her bouncy seat.  She has so much fun she usually falls asleep there in the seat.  Here is a picture and some video.

This year was the fourth year Derek and I hosted a 4th of July picnic.  I have to say this one was the best one so far.  We moved the festivities to the evening so we could beat the heat.  We had the usual burgers, dogs and brats along with some amazing side dishes that everyone brought.  This year we added a fire pit for roasting marshmallows and a fireworks display.  The fireworks were awesome.  They guys were able to get tremendous savings on the fireworks since we had our picnic the day after.  All I can say is that we definately got our monies worth.  Here are some pics from the day.

Mom and Dad made it in for the holiday weekend.  When they got to town, we headed to Tom and Lois's for dinner and a visit.  We had beer-butt chicken, chicken kabobs and grilled veggies from the garden.  Here are a few pics from the evening.

Sunday was Derek's first Father's Day.  Lauren bought her daddy a sweet card and a game for the wii.  We went to church and then to Karon's for dinner.  Here are a few pics from the day.

On Saturday, Derek and Josh drove to Chesapeake, Virginia to attend Doyle's 32nd Birthday.  It was a surprise party for Doyle so he was not expecting Derek and Josh to be there.  Here are a few pics.
