We now have Lauren's room ready.  We still have few things to hang up but mom put up the curtains and her shelf.  Karon has been painting flowers on the wall above the door and later she is going to paint butterflies on the wall.  It definately looks like a baby will be here soon.

On Monday we had our October baby appointment.  I am at 32 weeks now so we were able to get another ultrasound.  Lauren is still on schedule and looks so cute.  We tried to get a 3D image but she kept rolling away from us and putting her hands in front of her face.  I guess she was being shy that day.  We were able to see her yawn and see her practice breathing.

On Sunday, October 7, I had my baby shower at the Lee's Inn in Evansville.  April, Stephanie and Darlene, three of my best friends, arranged the shower for derek and I.  Mom flew in from West Virginia and brought the cutest little favors.  We had snacks with cake and punch...that was yummy.  The girls had some fun party games that I think everyone enjoyed.  Derek and I opened lots of gifts that I am sure will get us started when Lauren arrives.  Thanks to everyone who took the time out of their busy schedules to spend the day with me and Derek.  Also, special thanks to the girls for all their hard work.  It was a very special day for both of us.

On September 13 we had our monthly baby appointment.  Lauren is still right on schedule.  Her heartbeat was about 130 bpm.  This appointment was a big one for me.  I had to do the glucose screening for gestational diabetes and get a rhogam shot.  All test results came back normal so we should be in good shape for another month.  we will keep posted on our progress.

This past weekend we painted Lauren's bathroom.  It is yellow with rubber ducky border, shower curtain, pictures and towels.  It looks really cute.  I hope she likes it.

Saturday was an exciting day for Derek.  He was able to feel Lauren kick for the first time.  She is becoming more and more active each day.

Also, this weekend mom bought us a Pack 'N Play for my shower gift. 

Another month has come and gone so with that came another baby doctor appointment.  Lauren is right on schedule.  Her heartbeat was around 140 bpm.  She is getting more and more active each passing day.  I also had my first belly measurement but we don't need to talk about that :-).  Stay tuned.  More news to come...

Now that we know we are having a girl we have been busy getting the nursery together.  I already have the crib set and am currently working a baby blanket for her.  We have also been busy stocking up on diapers and maybe an outfit or two. 

We had our doctor appointment and ultrasound today where we found out it is a girl.  Derek and I are very excited about the arrival of our daughter in December.  We have several new pictures from the ultrasound and even a video tape.  It has been an exciting and happy day for both of us.

Derek did his first Daddy Duty.  He put the crib together in the baby's room.  He did a good job and is very proud of his work.
